The scenic Hiwassee River tailwater begins below the Apalachia Powerhouse located in Reliance TN in the Cherokee National Forest. The Hiwassee River is unquestionably the best trout fishery in the southeast, and quite possibly the best dry fly river in the eastern U.S. The Hiwassee River boasts many many major insect hatches which include sulphurs, BWO's, and the famed isonychia bicolor. The Hiwassee River is a first class year round fishery with the possibility of a trophy trout anytime during the year. Each year many trophy size rainbow and brown trout are caught in the scenic tailwater. (More Info) |

The
Historic Tellico
River
Basin
The Tellico River is one of the largest natural trout streams in the southeast. It is a wade fisherman's paradise with miles and miles of boulder strewn pocket water, shallow riffles, swift runs, and deep black pools. The Tellico supports healty populations of wild and stocked rainbow and brown trout, as well as smallmouth bass in the lower sections. A new winter Delayed Harvest section has been gaining popularity every year. (More Info) |

The North River and Bald River are back country destinations that are much smaller in size than the Tellico. These streams offer pristine habitat for wild trout, including rainbows, browns, and native brook trout. |

The Toccoa River, in north central Georgia is a popular spring time destination. Offering great hatches of spring mayflies, the Toccoa definately holds it's own despite it's small river personality. (More Info) |

The Clinch River, located just north of Knoxville, TN, is another popular tailwater fishery. While the river is wide, the flows often resemble that of a large spring creek. Small flies are the key on the Clinch. Presenting small flies on very light tippets to above average fish can be challenging, but very rewarding when success is achieved. (More Info) |
